Saint Lucy's Church Celebrates Father Luigi's Birthday & Gives Overwhelmingly to Help Needy Families

A jubilant crowd gathered after Mass on Monday at Saint Lucy's Church to celebrate Father Luigi Zanotto's 72 birthday. After Mass parishioners went over to the community center and had Italian and Spanish food along with cake and coffee. Father Luigi said that he was overjoyed that all the diverse communities of Newark came out to celebrate his birthday.
Among those well wishers was lifelong Newark resident & loyal parishioner, Olympia Bianchi who wished Father Luigi "many more".

In other Saint Lucy's news Unico National local chapter out of Cedar Grove/ Verona helped collect over 600 Turkeys to give to needy families in the community. Alan Genuario of Saint Lucy's Church led an army of volunteers placing those turkeys in boxes with all the turkey trimmings of stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, and much more. One of the helpers, Alvina Gopee noted that it was done with an assembyline precision. Many parishioners felt that Saint Lucy's Church was really receiving a Divine Blessing this week for Father Luigi's Birthday and Thanksgiving. Father Luigi at the food collection said a special prayer and blessing for the holiday. Father Luigi also extended an invitation for all to come to Saint Lucy's Church and be blessed.

Happy Thanksgiving and may God Bless everyone during upcoming Christmas season!
